Dewey’s ideas implemented creating an education that connected to the real world. The foundation of the VR Project was solely to mimic what the “real world” is actually like. Every single student had to become proficient in a guild which basically could of been looked as a profession. Their end goal was to make, 1,000-1,200 by the end of the project which will then essentially give them an A letter grade. The “Producer” were the ones who were the “bosses” and were in control of budgeting a video with the 5,000 that were given to spend. In my opinion I feel like the idea of obtaining knowledge rather than worrying about numbers was clouded because many of the time the producers and specialist were worried of getting to a certain number and blinded the fun in creating quality products that they so creatively envisioned, this is really the only way Dewey’s ideas could have much better been implemented throughout the course of this project.
Pink’s argument throughout his “Drive” video he touched based on mastery, autonomy, and purpose. He argued that people should be able to freely work in their own way in creating quality products, he states that when people are limited in creating something that they could be so passionate about by putting a price tag it leaves them with something they are not proud of because their mastery is clouded by the price tag. In a school setting it's very controversial on if a letter should be the only things students should be worried about, many of the times students choose to half ass something that could be put more time and creative simply because they are more worried about getting an A letter grade.

1. Describe any concerns you have about whether the people you have have hired will be able to produce a VR world that will meet your rubic's A criteria?
- After discussing my project with Dr. Don the idea of having copyrights to the music festival video, became something hard to obtain. Quickly I have had to resort to plan C, which was to create a scene of a party, which would be easy and get my message across. As of for my 3D modeler seem to have had some miscommunication and therefore haven't created anything in that I like and envisioned for my VR video. 2. How has your perspective on what constitutes reliable news changed? -Do you think you are a more critical consumer of information? Why do you think this ability is important to your own life/ to the country? Before what was taught in my class on journalism is something i was already sort of aware on, the manipulation they do in order to get across the news is something they have been doing seen the start of journalism. Everyone will continue to fend for their own benefit, even when this means that the rest of the people are in the dark on what events are happening around them. Being able to see this is important, because you shouldn't always believe on single source of news because everyone has their own way of twisting the truth, in order to benefit themselves. 1. What's working well so far? What problem have you noticed so far in this project + how would you fix it?
- So far communicating with the people I'm working with to create my video this week has been easy. The most important and big issue is the amount of time we have left to work on college applications due to the amount of time this project is consuming. Its understandable how this is also important but it think finding time to balance both the project time and applications time equally to ease the stress of the student in one of the most semesters of their high school career. 2. What strategies do you find helpful when trying to work in a distracting place? - I tend to like working all by myself and working away from the classroom because the noise created in a class distracts me, leading me to not be able to complete the task given. I like focusing and plugging in earphones and listening to my music, and giving myself goal to accomplish before a certain time frame. 3. How can words be used by those in power to influence our choices? - They are used in a manipulative was to persuade you into doing something positive and or negative. Sometime it is not all negative but instead it can be persuasive, in order to do something the person with power, wishes you to do. What was the most disturbing prediction in the Singularity reading and why?
To me the most "Disturbing" prediction in the reading was the longevity of how long a human would live, in the future. This was disturbing because I believe that humans should only live a certain amount of time, and not for an extended amount of time. In what way was the job fair/interview process authentic? How could it e made more authentic? What did you learn about yourself through the process? It was authentic to each different producer because everyone was looking for something different in the specialists. It could have had more of a structure and direction to follow. I learned that being on the other side of an interview if so much easier. Being the interviewer is so much more easy because you're asking the other person questions. I really enjoyed being able to have more power when it came down to deciding who I want to hire. Does advertising shape or reflect our society? Should there be stricter regulations on advertisers? If so, what restrictions should there be? There is adverting in about everything and everywhere we go, from what dish soap we buy to seeing billboards of the newest car that has been created. I think it really does have a great impact on our society because many of the times we are so accustomed to being influenced by these advertisements that now its just a norm. Regulations on advertising shouldn't be a thing, only because I think that it should be common sense to realize what is it we're buying and not be so ignorant into what we do buy. We should be taught to not believe in everything we see and hear. Engineering: What skill(s) are you training for? What have you learned far this week? What challenges and celebrations did you encounter? What are your goals for the next week? Any surprises? During the process of this week, I have created an outline for my "Take a Trip" Virtual Reality world. Since I am one of the 6 producers that were picked, I mostly just researched and though of the type of specialist I needed in order to create my VR video. While researching who I need, I looked up how much these specialist would get paid and how long I needed them in order for them to create what I wanted for my VR Video. My goal for next week is to make a sort of game plan outlining exactly what I need from the specialist. And what components are needed in order to put together what I envision my video to look like. English: How did our study of propaganda and doublespeak impact your thinking about reality? What questions did this study raise for you ? Doublespeak is form of speaking in different forms it often presents information that is given to an audience. When using propaganda it's a way to depict information on a piece of paper. Often both of these tools are you to manipulate the way one thinks, often serving it purpose. This makes me wonder how often is this used in order to manipulate the way a whole population thinks and make decisions. This clearly then make a impact on reality because it's not much of a reality when its affected by many manipulations. Below is the first draft of my outline:
